I remember being obsessed with this album in high school listening to it while I drew ugly pictures of people of people I saw online with the honest lyrics written by Shing02 and the nostalgia upending sample remixes created by Nujabes running around through my ears it was especially the title of the album which I’ve always been curious about that it’s a word play luv being a misspelling of love and (sic) which is used to denote the previous word being misspelled on purpose like in a quotation that’s written out but putting the two words together it makes it sound like the word lovesick but I think it’s more than just to be a fun play on words since there’s other ways you can think about it you can take it literally and see that it’s just a coincidence that these two words sound like another but the (sic) suggests intentionality meaning the word is what you sound it out as despite the wrong spelling implying something beautifully contradictory about Luv(Sic) that love could still be honestly meant even when upfront literally it means something else potentially wrong and it puts so much trust in the reader they should be able to turn this simple misspelling into something that resembles true and honest love
